McKesson Recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality” for Ninth Year in a Row

Scored 100 percent on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index

For the ninth consecutive year, McKesson Corporation is honored as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation. McKesson achieved 100 percent on the HRC’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a nationally recognized benchmarking report on corporate policies and practices in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) workplace equality.

“The best version of McKesson is one where all our employees are able to be their most authentic selves,” said Brian Tyler, chief executive officer, McKesson. “Our teams have fostered an inclusive environment by sharing, appreciating and celebrating individual experiences, perspectives, and self-expression. I’m incredibly proud that our deep commitment to this work has once again been recognized.”

Launched in 2002, the CEI serves as a roadmap for major U.S. business’ adoption of inclusive policies, practices and benefits for LGBTQ+ employees. It has since become a nationally recognized benchmarking report for businesses to gauge their level of LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.

“When I was searching for a job, the HRC designation of Best Place to Work was a sign I could be who I am professionally and personally,” shared Lisa Anderson, senior specialist, event marketing at McKesson. “That designation and more importantly, McKesson’s commitment to the LGBTQ+ community told me that I would be supported along my career path here at McKesson. And in turn, as co-chair of McKesson’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group, I am able to work alongside my colleagues to help ensure equality for all at McKesson.”

McKesson has been at the forefront in offering expanded LGBTQ+ benefits such as transgender-inclusive assistance to employees, coverage for the HIV prevention medication, PrEP, and providing same-sex partners with family health and wellness benefits. Additionally, McKesson continues to build on its inclusion and diversity efforts by evolving and growing its employee resource groups and providing inclusion training to all employees. In 2021, McKesson introduced a new Native and Indigenous Tribes employee resource group that celebrates native and indigenous culture and embraces diversity by educating, connecting and empowering McKesson employees.
