Born and raised in the scenic foothills of the Himalayan Mountains, Priya Kumari inherited her love of reading and passion for the written word from her father, who owned a bookstore. The rich and detailed history of Indian culture and mythos is the source for her own books focusing on humane values of diversity and connection in the hopes of bringing future generations together.
Kumari’s author journey has been very rewarding. According to her, her largest achievement thus far has been to get the news that His Holiness the Dalai Lama wrote a foreword for her newest book, Leaf Talks Peace.

Kumari has also gained wide recognition in her hometown of East Brunswick, NJ. Her town featured her in the first-ever issue of the newsletter of the Human Relations Council of East Brunswick for Women’s History Month. Additionally, she was interviewed by News12 of NJ to discuss Leaf Talks Peace earlier this year.
Some Montessori schools, including the Hudson Montessori School have also decided to include Leaf Talks Peace in their peace education curriculum.

Kumari’s mission is to publish uplifting books created by visionary authors and artists for all ages to share stories from under-represented Indian culture – diverse stories promoting peace education, emotional hygiene, science of well-being, and cultural competence. She believes that understanding plural perspectives is pivotal to ensuring inclusion in our communities. Global citizens alike have many cultural identities and enjoy taking part in other cultures art, literature, music, food, languages, and noble ideas. This love and eagerness to learn about one another is the seed of Eternal Tree Books.
