Luma and the Lightkeeper's Wish Inspires Young Readers to Believe in Dreams, Courage, and the Power of Hope
CANADA — Aisha Shahid, a 13-year-old writer and roller skater from Canada, has published her debut children's fantasy novel, Luma and the Lightkeeper's Wish (First Edition, 2026). Registered with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (Registration No. 1242491), the book is a luminous tale of bravery, wonder, and the enduring magic of belief — written by a young author who is already proving that age is no barrier to storytelling.
About the Book
Set in the enchanted village of Star Hollow, the novel follows Luma, a curious, dark-haired girl who has always felt called by something beyond the hills. When a glowing feather leads her into an ancient, magical forest, she embarks on a breathtaking quest to reignite the Beacon of Wishes — a tower that keeps the world's dreams alive — before the last light fades forever.
Along the way, Luma encounters Orin, a silver fox and wise guardian of the forest, and Breezy, a bubbly, laughter-filled spirit of air and light. Together they journey through the Valley of Forgotten Wishes, cross a bridge of starlight, and ultimately awaken the slumbering Lightkeeper — restoring hope to a world that had forgotten how to dream.
Rich with lyrical prose, memorable characters, and a heartfelt message about courage and kindness, Luma and the Lightkeeper's Wish is a story for every child who has ever felt small — and a reminder that even the quietest heart can light the sky.
