Turing Award Winner Jack Dongarra Joins Yotta Labs as a Technical & Strategic Advisor

Turing Award-winning computer scientist brings decades of high-performance computing expertise to AI infrastructure company

PALO ALTO, CA / ACCESS Newswire / January 20, 2026 / Yotta Labs, a company building intelligent orchestration software for AI workloads across globally distributed GPU infrastructure, today announced that Dr. Jack Dongarra, recipient of the 2021 ACM A.M. Turing Award, has joined the company as a Technical & Strategic Advisor.

Dr. Dongarra is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in high-performance computing, with foundational contributions to numerical libraries including LINPACK, BLAS, and LAPACK, as well as the TOP500 benchmark for the world's fastest supercomputers. His work has shaped how the world measures and optimizes compute performance -principles that are increasingly essential as AI systems scale across heterogeneous hardware and distributed environments.

"AI infrastructure is at a critical inflection point," said Dr. Da Li, CEO and Co-founder of Yotta Labs. "Hardware innovation, especially in the context of multi-silicon for AI workloads, has moved faster than the software abstractions needed to use it efficiently. Jack's career has been defined by solving exactly this class of problem - making performance scalable, measurable, and accessible. His guidance will be invaluable as we build the next generation of AI infrastructure."

Yotta Labs is developing a cloud-based orchestration platform that enables teams to deploy, scale, and optimize AI training and inference workloads across heterogeneous GPU environments. By abstracting infrastructure complexity, the platform helps organizations maximize performance while maintaining flexibility across providers and hardware types.

"I'm excited to work with Yotta Labs as they tackle the challenges of performance and scalability in modern AI systems," said Dr. Dongarra. "The problems emerging in AI infrastructure echo many of the challenges we faced in high-performance computing - and they require thoughtful software solutions."

As an advisor, Dr. Dongarra will support Yotta Labs on performance engineering, benchmarking, and research direction for next-generation AI infrastructure. His appointment underscores Yotta Labs' commitment to building infrastructure grounded in rigorous performance science and real-world production requirements.
