FreeCast is announcing the launch of NHK WORLD-JAPAN on its free streaming platform. The English-language channel from Japan’s public media organization, NHK, joins FreeCast’s growing lineup of hundreds of free FAST channels. The channel is now available to all FreeCast members outside of Japan on all platforms.

NHK WORLD-JAPAN is a 24-hour channel featuring news, lifestyle and cultural content, and documentaries, made for an international audience with the goal of promoting mutual understanding and promoting respect for freedom and democracy. The channel features commentary, analysis, and fresh insights from a Japanese perspective, and serves as a cultural gateway for the international world to Japan and the rest of Asia.

FreeCast’s Executive Vice President of Digital Content, Tracy West, discussed the value of international broadcasters to the platform: “As television shifts from traditional infrastructure to streaming, media can more easily cross borders, bringing high-quality content to new audiences.
