Oculofacial plastic surgeon Dr. Deepak Ramesh a two-time Castle Connolly Top Doctor

Sathyadeepak ("Deepak") Ramesh, MD, FACS, has been recognized as a 2025 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, the second year he has received the esteemed Top Doctor honor.

SOMERSET, NJ, January 24, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sathyadeepak ("Deepak") Ramesh, MD, FACS, has been recognized as a 2025 Castle Connolly Top Doctor, the second year he has received the esteemed Top Doctor honor. Only about 7 percent of the nation's licensed physicians are chosen annually as Castle Connolly Top Doctors in their regions for their specialties.

Dr. Ramesh is a highly trained ophthalmologist (eye doctor) with special expertise in performing facial plastic surgery, particularly surgery of the eyelids, face, neck, and orbit. He performs both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the eyelids and face, many minimally invasive.

Dr. Ramesh founded The Center for Eye and Facial Plastic Surgery in 2020, which has locations in Somerset and Livingston, New Jersey. He also serves on the faculty of the Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery service at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) as well as the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).

Dr. Ramesh's oculoplastics training allows him to perform elegant and safe blepharoplasty procedures for eyelid rejuvenation. Because of his background in ophthalmology, he is able to consistently deliver natural and safe results for cosmetic eyelid procedures. His additional training and membership in the Facial Plastic Surgery Society afford him further expertise in dealing with aesthetic face and neck conditions to deliver long-lasting and beautiful results.

Dr. Ramesh also has a special passion for caring for people with thyroid eye disease (TED), a complex and relatively common condition that can be challenging to manage. TED specialists are rare, and patients often experience many roadblocks to obtaining the care they need. Dr. Ramesh has developed and refined the "TED Reset" — a customized surgery including a combination of orbital decompression and other facial aesthetic and reconstructive procedures to help restore patients' appearances to how they were prior to the onset of TED.

Dr. Ramesh's office is conducting the latest clinical trials for non-surgical treatment of TED, including IGF-1 therapies and others.

Dr. Ramesh also performs cosmetic procedures that include eyelid surgery/blepharoplasty; eyebrow lift; eyelid-bag surgery; double-eyelid surgery ("Asian-eyelid surgery"); facial contouring; facelifts; and neck lifts.

He offers non-surgical cosmetic procedures, including skin resurfacing and injections of dermal fillers and neuromodulators such as BOTOX®.

Dr. Ramesh says he values the diversity and hands-on nature of oculoplastic surgery, orbital surgery, and facial plastic surgery.

"One day I may be doing a delicate eyelid or facial surgery, and another day I may be doing major oculoplastic or orbital surgery to rebuild someone's face after a traumatic accident," he says. "I appreciate that my patients' outcomes are directly related to the care I'm able to provide with my own two hands.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Ramesh has served since 2018 as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel Medical College.

Top Doctors are nominated by peer physicians and selected by the physician-led Castle Connolly research team.

"I'm grateful to Castle Connolly and my colleagues for recognizing the hard work and dedication it takes to consistently treat patients at the highest level," Dr. Ramesh says.

Dr. Ramesh earned his medical degree (Alpha Omega Alpha) at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed three years of residency training in ophthalmology at UTSW-Affiliated Hospitals and a two-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center's Jules Stein Eye Institute.

He is also affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, and Wills Eye Hospital.

Dr. Ramesh speaks English, Tamil, and Spanish.
