Craftsmen Industries Adds Large-Scale 3D Printing to Capability Portfolio

By: PRLog

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - April 5, 2022 - PRLog -- Craftsmen Industries invested in an industrial-grade printer to add large-scale 3D printing services to its portfolio of in-house fabrication capabilities, increasing speed and lowering costs for customers.

A 3D print is significantly lighter weight versus a traditional carved foam object. Advanced gel-dispensing printing technology creates a hollow interior, decreasing the weight, while keeping the same detailed exterior. The mass difference translates to large savings on the material and shipping costs of each dimensional item. Onsite erection requires less manpower and less lifting power.

"We kept our customers and end users at the forefront during the process of choosing our exact printing addition," Mark Steele, Co-Owner and CEO of Craftsmen said. "Many of our display products involve transportation to and from multiple locations. Ease of travel and setup is a key factor in the time management and all-around success of an event."

Speeds vary depending on the chosen resolution and intricacy of each project. The lowest resolution quality can be printed at the fastest speed, while a high-resolution element will produce at a slower speed. For reference, a 70-inch-tall beverage bottle of mid-quality resolution can print in eight hours. Regardless of the print method, every item can be sanded, hard-coated, primed, and painted for a durable, high-end finish.

"A large print envelope that is six-feet tall, four-feet wide, and four-feet deep combined with the ability to produce nested elements, opens our print capabilities to be nearly endless," Steele said. "In addition to our typical finishing capabilities, we also have the ability of transforming our 3D prints into backlit dimensional showpieces for trade shows and other special events."
