Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of financial and operational consulting services, today announced that Dr. Robert K. Crone and Kathleen P. Gallagher have joined the Company as managing directors to focus on serving academic medical centers.

Crone is an internationally renowned senior healthcare physician executive who has been leading global medicine ventures for U.S.-based healthcare institutions for more than 20 years. At Huron, he will expand the Company’s international service offerings to academic medical centers. Crone comes to Huron from Harvard Medical International, where as founder, president and chief executive officer, he established and led Harvard Medical School’s (HMS) first formalized venture in global medicine. In this role, he also served as clinical professor and dean for international programs at HMS. His efforts have helped several academic medical centers and medical institutions enhance their global and regional reputations, increase efficiencies, and set healthcare benchmarks in many countries across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Crone is also listed among Best Doctors in America for pediatric anesthesia and intensive care. He received his MD from Albany Medical College at Union University. Crone will be based in Huron’s Boston office.
Gallagher is a nationally recognized leader in providing financial, strategic and operational services to academic medical centers and teaching hospitals. With more than 20 years in healthcare, she has extensive experience managing administration and operations at academic medical centers. Most recently, Gallagher served as vice dean of administration at NYU School of Medicine, where she was responsible for handling all administrative, budgetary and operational functions. Previously, she served in a similar role as the senior associate dean for administration and finance at the Drexel University College of Medicine. In addition, Gallagher advised major academic medical centers as a senior associate/project manager at CSC Healthcare. She holds a BS in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University and a MS in nursing administration from the University of Pennsylvania. Gallagher will be based in Huron’s New York office.
