PEORIA, ILLINOIS, March 28, 2023 In keeping with the spirit of National Developmental Disability Awareness Month, Peoria Production Solutions, a not-for-profit contract assembly provider and award-winning employer of individuals with disabilities, celebrates the continued dedication and success of their employees.

In an era of labor shortages, Peoria Production Solutions enjoys an exceptionally low turnover rate of just three percent. Many of their employees have been with the company for 20 years or more. Eighty-one of the 230 employees have five or more years of service; 42 have 10 or more years; 25 have 15 or more years; 18 have 20 or more years; and six have completed 30 or more years of service.

Fifty-seven percent of Peoria Production Solutions employees have a diagnosed disability. A majority have consistently perfect attendance, proving their commitment and the significant role that Peoria Production Solutions plays in their lives.

People with disabilities constitute the largest minority group in the United States. Over 50 million Americans live with at least one disability. These include people who are born with a disability or become disabled, as well as those with learning or mental disabilities.

Even though they have exceptional skills and abilities, people with disabilities continue to experience high levels of unemployment. More than 70% of disabled Americans are unemployed at any given time.

Providing employment and support for people with disabilities is central to Peoria Production Solutions mission. The organization was established in 1941 with a goal to provide employment to people recovering from tuberculosis. After incorporating as a not-for-profit company in 1951, the mission was expanded to provide employment, training, and encouragement for all people with disabilities so that they can achieve financial and social independence in an environment that is respectful, encouraging, and safe.

As a fully self-sustaining not-for-profit, Peoria Production Solutions achieves their mission by supplying high-quality contract assembly and other services to a wide variety of companies in a range of industries. Their unique business model allows them to provide competitive wages and benefits for employees while offering competitive pricing for assembly, kitting, packaging, and other post-production services. By developing and focusing on the strengths and abilities of employees, rather than their disabilities, Peoria Production Solutions can provide their customers with a consistently high-quality product and service.
