Long Beach, CA – SoCal Youth Center, formerly known as Long Beach Recovery Center, is excited to announce its official rebranding to better reflect its mission of providing specialized care and support to young individuals facing mental health challenges. This fresh new look and feel represent the center’s deep commitment to fostering inclusivity, self-esteem, and hope in a welcoming, family-centered environment.
SoCal Youth Center empowers youth to overcome mental health concerns, build meaningful connections, and lead fulfilling lives. The center focuses on the unique needs of its clients, with a special emphasis on LGBTQ+ youth, teens with gender dysphoria, social challenges, mood disorders like anxiety and depression, and those on the autism spectrum. This rebrand is more than just a name change. It's about aligning their vision with the growing need for specialized care for teens with social connections, self-esteem, and mental health. Every teen who walks through their doors will feel accepted, understood, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
SoCal Youth Center offers a variety of individual, family, and group therapy programs designed to provide the comprehensive support that teens and families need. The center’s small group therapy model ensures that each teen receives personalized attention and can form strong, supportive connections with peers who are facing similar challenges.
Weekly group sessions include Identity Group, Communication Group, Self-Esteem Group, and Dungeons and Dragons Group.
Teens also benefit from one-on-one therapy sessions to address specific issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem, along with family therapy to improve home dynamics and communication.
As a female doctor-owned center, SoCal Youth Center prides itself on offering expert, individualized care under the guidance of Dr. Beheshti and Dr. Lauren Armstrong and their team. Treatment plans are tailored to each teen’s specific needs. The center’s holistic approach integrates clinical care to foster a strong sense of self and well-being for teens and their families.
SoCal Youth Center is deeply committed to inclusivity, with 50% of its clients identifying as LGBTQ+. The center strives to create an environment where teens feel safe, heard, and accepted. While SoCal Youth Center does not treat substance use disorders (SUDs), it is a safe space for teens to work on their mental health concerns, free from the risk of exposure to individuals managing addiction. For families concerned about the affordability of care, SoCal Youth Center offers flexible payment options and a financial hardship form for assistance on a case-by-case basis.
One of SoCal Youth Center's key differentiators is its team-based model. SoCal Youth Center hosts multiple weekly team meetings, ensuring that clients receive the combined expertise of a multidisciplinary team focused on improving their mental health. From therapists to medical professionals, each member of the team plays a crucial role in the client’s treatment plan.
