Owner Mark Kvamme to Compete in Prestigious Le Mans 24 Hour Race

LE MANS, France - June 2, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Taking advantage of a mid-season break in the Porsche series state-side, team owner Mark Kvamme will be headed across the pond to participate in the 90th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on June 11-12, 2022.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the largest sportscar event on the planet, and the most prestigious endurance race held annually near the town of Le Mans, France. It is the world's oldest active endurance racing event.

Kvamme (USA) will be racing with team members Renger Van der Zande (Netherlands) and Jason Hart (USA) in partnership with team JMW Motorsport racing in the Ferrari 488 GTE EVO as car #66.

"The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the premier endurance race in the world. I look forward to representing MDK Motorsports on this worldwide platform," said Kvamme. "Moreover, I am looking forward to racing with Renger again; we were on the same team in 2017 and have always said we would race together again. It's truly an epic race for a reunion!"

In addition, leading up to the event, Kvamme, alongside MDK Pro driver Trenton Estep, will be competing in Road to Le Mans, a shorter two-person team race, in advance of the 24-hour main event race.  For the Road to Le Mans, Kvamme and Estep will compete in an MDK Motorsports wrapped LMP3 (#31).

"I'm thrilled for Mark and the entire MDK Motorsports team, it doesn't get any bigger than Le Mans. I'm just as excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Trenton. He has performed well this season in the states, and I'm excited to watch him succeed in the Road to Le Mans series this year," said Team Manager Will Bamber. "I'm very proud of both Mark and Trenton, they have helped shape MDK Motorsports to be a world-class team. Success for both of them in Le Mans will only validate that."

Meanwhile, state-side, the MDK Motorsport team will be competing at the Virginia International Raceway for the Porsche Sprint Challenge this weekend, June 3-5, with drivers Christian Weir (#23), Terry Olson (#16), and Jimmy Llibre (#89).

Kvamme (#43) and Estep (#6) will be back in action for the Porsche Carrera Cup North America at Watkins Glen (New York) on June 24-25.
