Fans rave about popular Scottish future garage musician Andy Leech's latest hit single, Strangers.

Fife, Scotland – May 3, 2022 – From an early age, soundscapes have been the characteristic feature of musician Andy Leech’s life. Growing up in rural Scotland, the vastness and silence of the wild landscape mixed with a limited population led him to the passion that would define his future, music. Now, 11 years after the accident that led to him becoming one of Scotland’s most popular ambient, downtempo electronic music artists, Leech has released his latest inspiring single, Strangers.

Throughout his life, Leech has had a push-pull relationship with technology. Originally drawn to the guitar, an accident resulting in a badly broken arm forced him to explore new ways of making music. Electronic music allowed Leech the creative freedom needed to bring his vision and inspiration to life. The same technology that allowed him the ultimate creativity nearly crippled the young musician’s life thanks to the overwhelming draw of social media. Losing hours of his day to checking likes, comments and streams began to paralyze not only his time but his ability to create. In 2018 he made the dramatic decision to leave social media and delete all of his accounts. Rather than disconnecting him from fans and opportunities, the move allowed Leech to get in touch with his inner self and to draw inspiration from the natural world around him, a move fans have rewarded him for. In recent years, Leech has made a slow return to social media, only using it in a conscious and deliberate way.

“My music is very much inspired by my favourite places in nature,” explains Leech. “While I have a technology-filled studio in my home which allows me the ability to fine-tune and to work on larger projects, I find that I am most creative when I’m exploring the natural world around me. I love the dark forests and the parks that I am surrounded by. It’s that all-encompassing soundscape of nature that I bring to my work. My music, like the forest, is clean, ethereal, and melodic with some dark and gritty sounds for added texture.”

Strangers was launched in March 2022 and has quickly become a fan favourite. With millions of streams and hundreds of glowing comments, the song is quickly working its way up the charts. Inspired by a fusion of R&B and underground U.K. Garage, the nearly five-minute-long song is upbeat, enveloping, rhythmic, and emotion-filled.

Strangers is available on Spotify and Apple Music.
