Wi-Fi HaLow moves further into mainstream networking as MikroTik launches the KNOT Gateway HL9, with IP66 protection, LTE backhaul, and GPS for sites with no wired connection.

Morse Micro, the global technology leader in Wi-Fi HaLow, today announced that MikroTik’s KNOT Gateway HL9, an outdoor Wi-Fi HaLow gateway built on Morse Micro’s MM6108 system-on-chip (SoC), is now available for purchase, marking MikroTik's first Wi-Fi HaLow product.

The KNOT Gateway HL9 is an IP66-rated outdoor gateway combining Wi-Fi HaLow with GPS and LTE. It can report its own position and use cellular backhaul where no wired connection exists, with Ethernet, Bluetooth Low Energy, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi providing additional connectivity options. Powered by MikroTik's flexible RouterOS, the gateway also supports local data processing, custom scripts and integration with existing IoT platforms. At a suggested price of US$139, the KNOT Gateway HL9 makes outdoor, long-range connectivity more accessible to network operators, including projects requiring multiple gateways across a single site.

The KNOT Gateway HL9 is built for applications where conventional Wi-Fi coverage is difficult, costly, or impractical:

• Industrial. Equipment telemetry and vehicle and asset tracking across yards, depots, plant perimeters, and mine sites.
• Agricultural. Soil, irrigation, livestock monitoring, and weather data gathered across large distances.
• Smart city. Street lighting, parking, waste and water metering, and environmental and traffic sensing.
