Serialized RxERP platform replaces manual processes and provides Cedra Healthcare a DSCSA-compliant foundation to grow its distribution business.

Cedra Healthcare LLC, a pharmaceutical wholesaler, announced it has deployed RxERP, a serialized enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform purpose-built for the pharmaceutical supply chain, to support the expansion of its distribution business. The deployment gives Cedra a compliant infrastructure for unit-level serialization under the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) as it expands its pharmaceutical distribution business.

Cedra operates its wholesale pharmaceutical distribution business in the states of Texas and New York. Before RxERP, Cedra handled much of that work, including serialization and product-tracking obligations required under DSCSA, through manual processes rather than a dedicated distribution system. As Cedra's distribution volume grew, the company needed infrastructure designed specifically for pharmaceutical distribution instead of relying on multiple systems stitched together for financial management, inventory, warehouse operations, customer ordering, DSCSA serialization, and EPCIS traceability.

“As we grow our wholesale distribution business, we need the same compliance rigor expected of a pharmaceutical wholesaler, without adding layers of manual work. RxERP gives us that foundation by embedding DSCSA-required serialization into our workflows, giving us confidence that we can keep expanding this side of Cedra without creating compliance gaps along the way,” said Karen Miller, CCO at Cedra Healthcare.

Cedra’s expansion into pharmaceutical distribution shows the operational requirements that emerge when a pharmacy adds these capabilities. Serialization, traceability, inventory control, and DSCSA compliance become more important as distribution volume and complexity grow.

“When pharmacies expand into pharmaceutical distribution, they take on a new level of operational and regulatory responsibility, especially around serialization and DSCSA,” said Steve Madsen, founder and CEO of RxERP. “Cedra is a strong example of how the right infrastructure allows a pharmacy to grow into that role without treating compliance as a barrier. That’s exactly what RxERP was built to do.”

With RxERP in place, Cedra replaced manual serialization workflows with compliance processes embedded directly in its ERP. This reduces the effort to manage serialized products and creates a platform that supports continued growth in its distribution business.
