Offers seamless wireless integration, reduces customer costs, and accelerates access to critical machine health data.
Waites Sensor Technologies, Inc. (Waites), the leader in AI-driven predictive maintenance solutions, today announced the launch of its Universal Adapter product suite. This release significantly enhances machine health monitoring by enabling efficient cloud data collection for processing, display, and alerting—without the need to overhaul existing sensor infrastructure.
The new Universal Adapters allow customers to connect nearly any off-the-shelf industrial sensor—whether 0–5V, 0–10V, 4–20mA, current transformers (CTs), or RTDs—directly to a Waites node. This enables simple and reliable wireless transmission of data to the cloud, where it can be analyzed by Waites' AI or integrated with the customer's systems for further processing and display.
Historically, facilities have faced frustrating limitations when trying to unify diverse sensors across different platforms. The Waites Universal Adapter suite eliminates those constraints, delivering broad compatibility and reducing the need for custom wiring or specialized devices. The result is lower deployment cost, increased system flexibility, and faster access to critical operational data.
“For years, industrial operations and facilities have struggled with incomplete sensor systems requiring costly workarounds to access critical data,” said Rob Ratterman, CEO and co-founder of Waites. “Waites’ Universal Adapter suite removes those barriers. It reflects our commitment to unlocking actionable insights from any sensor, on any platform, as simply and reliably as possible. This launch is a major step forward in manufacturing intelligence, ease, and efficiency.”
Each adapter supports industry-standard sensor output types, collects data at configurable intervals, and transmits it wirelessly to the Waites cloud for analysis and alerting. The devices are designed for industrial reliability, operating in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 185°F.
“Data interoperability has become paramount in OT environments as organizations progress along their digital transformation journeys,” said Jared Weiner, Director of the Industrial Automation and Sensors practice at VDC Research. “Tools like the Universal Adapter help industrial teams maximize the value from their operational data sources.”
