United States Investing Championship Nine-Month Results

The United States Investing Championship just announced its nine-month standings for 2024. There are four hundred forty-nine competitors, each of whom selects a real money account to be tracked before the competition begins. Prior top performers include Paul Tudor Jones, Mark Minervini, David Ryan, Mark Strome, and Dr. Edward O. Thorp.

In the $1,000,000+ stock division, leading with a nine-month gain of 143.1% is Aryan Khandelwal of TwoXCapital. Mr. Khandelwal is a Division 1 squash player at Dartmouth College. He co-manages TwoXCapital with his brother Tanmay, who won this division in 2023 with a gain of 129%. Second, + 58.3%, is Deepak Uppal, from Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Uppal has an MBA from the University of Illinois. Third is Anthony Shi + 51.9%, from Hong Kong. He is a co-founder of Altus Capital. Other traders reporting significant profits are Vibha Jha + 37.9%, James R. Wombles, Jr. + 37.1%, Ravi Gullapalli (Fastra Investments LP) + 31.5%, John Ward (Mystic Valley Investments) + 26.3%, George Tkaczuk, + 20.2%, and William T. Lappas (Axios Fund, LLP) + 10.2%.

In the $1,000,000+ enhanced growth division, which allows the trading of futures and options, the leader after nine months is Brandi Archer + 47.1%, a full-time trader from Chicago. Ms. Archer previously worked in real estate and has a law degree from Chicago-Kent. Second is Matthew Pryzby + 34.3%, from Long Beach, California. Mr. Pryzby grew up in Long Island, New York. He runs Trading Experts, an educational service for traders. Third, + 33%, is Magnus Sigurdsson from Great Neck, New York. Mr. Sigurdsson was born and raised in Iceland. He has a graduate degree from MIT and has worked for twelve years in fintech and asset management. Fourth is SK Chong of Kamet Capital + 25.8%.

Among participants trading less than $1,000,000 in stocks, the leader after nine months is Leos Mikulka + 500.5%, from Prague, Czech Republic. Mr. Mikulka played professional football for the Czech Republic national team. He currently works in the IT industry. Second, + 243.8%, is Christian Flanders, from Puerto Rico. Mr Flanders played poker professionally for ten years and is a fencing champion. Third is Menelaos Fthenakis + 222.5%. Others achieving gains of more than 100% in six months are Angel Pandev + 183.4%, Adam R. Graham, P.E. + 154.8%, and CH Kelvin + 111.3%.

Among participants trading less than $1,000,000 in the enhanced growth division, the leader after nine months + 409.1% is Andrew O’Connell, CFA, FRM, who manages Pristine Capital. Mr. O’Connell, who is from New York, previously worked for Vanguard as a senior analyst in fixed income. Second, + 280.6% is Dave Gagne, from Ottawa, Canada. Mr. Gagne, a fitness enthusiast, previously worked for TD Investing before starting his own trading business. Third, + 258.4%, is Chris Boyd. Also achieving gains in excess of 100% are Florian Philippi + 216%, Anindo Majumdar + 170.4%, Miroslav Gnjatovic + 145.6%, and Brandon Frenchak + 142%.
