Ann Schmelzer, Managing Director of Cummins Global Agriculture Business, said: "Cummins has had a strong presence in the agricultural machinery industry for many years. Our wealth of experience has enabled us to offer our partner, CLAAS, products that are optimized for the performance of combine harvesters. We are excited for the TRION to make its North American debut at the Farm Progress show.”

Tailored specifically for use in the TRION, the Cummins L9 features simple and robust EGR-free designs, meaning it is reliable and easy to maintain in tough farming operations, Cummins in-house air handling, combustion, fuel systems, exhaust aftertreatment and electronic controls capability means the engine operation is closely aligned with that of the machine. Key technologies such as variable-geometry turbocharging are specified to deliver the responsiveness and productivity needed during harvesting. Excellent fuel efficiency helps reduce total cost of operation.

Cummins L9 engine is proven in a range of hard-working industrial applications. With up to 430 hp and 1361 Nm of Torque it delivers high capability in a lightweight and durable package. Matched to Cummins latest Single ModuleTM aftertreatment system it meets the most stringent EPA Tier 4 Final and European Stage V ultra-low emissions regulations.

“Our engineering expertise enables us to provide the best engine and collaborate with CLAAS to tailor power and torque curves that deliver the best powertrain for their customers,” concluded Schmelzer.
