Chester, SC - Independent artist Kalis is set to release his debut EP, Confessionz, a four-track project that pulls no punches when it comes to honesty. Dropping July 4, 2026, the EP is a melodic pop-rap collection that blends personal storytelling with Kalis's signature fashion-forward aesthetic - music that sounds as sharp as it looks.
Born and raised in Chester, South Carolina, Kalis has been surrounded by music his entire life. Though he began rapping in high school, it wasn't until recently that he committed to turning his passion into a business. Since then, he has built his craft through showcases and open mic performances, sharpening his pen and his presence before the world was ready to listen. Now, with Confessionz, he's making his formal introduction.
The EP features four distinct tracks, each rooted in lived experience. "WorkItOut" digs into the wreckage of past relationships and what goes wrong when love falls apart. "Preesh" captures a pure, unfiltered studio session - Kalis in his element, vibing freely. "Intentions" is a moment of personal accountability, reflecting on past mistakes and the growth that follows. Closing the project, "Priceless" is a love letter to the Carolinas, a return to his roots and everything that shaped him.
Production on Confessionz comes from a trio of notable beatmakers: WhoisMunchy, a local producer with deep community ties; RealRed, who has worked alongside multiple platinum-selling artists; and Neekobaby, a protégé of multi-platinum producer JetsonMade. Every word on the EP was written by Kalis himself - no ghostwriters, no shortcuts.
Musically, Kalis draws his deepest inspiration from LilWayne, crediting Weezy as the driving force behind the intensity and dedication he brings to every verse. His sound sits at the intersection of melody and rap, wrapped in a visual identity heavily influenced by fashion - a style he describes as blending his wardrobe with his music taste.
Kalis has previously collaborated with Jelly, a rapper signed to producer PierreBourne, and singer Jewels, adding notable early co-signs to his growing résumé.
Confessionz will be available on Apple Music and all major streaming platforms beginning July 4, 2026.
