Dublin, Ireland - The Global Nursing AI Alliance announced that Dr Celia McIntosh, Director of Health Equity and Policy, represented the organization at the 45th Annual International Nursing and Midwifery Research and Education Conference in Dublin, Ireland.
Dr McIntosh presented Health Equity in the Age of Algorithms Reimagining AI Policy Through a Nursing Lens, addressing the growing urgency of embedding nursing leadership into artificial intelligence governance, digital health strategy, and global policy frameworks.
The internationally recognized conference convened researchers, educators, and policy leaders from across Europe and beyond to examine innovations transforming nursing and midwifery practice. Dr McIntosh’s presentation underscored the responsibility of healthcare systems to ensure that algorithmic technologies advance equity rather than reinforce disparities.
Artificial intelligence is reshaping healthcare delivery worldwide, said Dr McIntosh. Equity cannot be an afterthought in digital transformation. Nurses understand how technology touches real patients and real communities. Our voices must be present at the governance table to ensure that algorithmic systems are designed, implemented, and evaluated through a lens of fairness, accountability, and global responsibility.
Her participation reflects the Global Nursing AI Alliance’s continued commitment to strengthening international collaboration and advancing responsible AI integration across diverse care environments.
The Alliance continues to expand its global engagement through leadership in Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Oncology, Health Informatics, and Health Equity, contributing to competency development and policy dialogue that centers ethical innovation and equitable care delivery.
