Together, the appointments strengthen RP Clinical Services’ leadership structure by pairing Peterson’s enterprise healthcare operating experience with the promotion of Dr. Nallamshetty, a radiologist leader, into a full-time operating role, reinforcing RP’s commitment to physician-led operational decision-making.
“Matt and Krishna bring complementary strengths that are important to the next phase of RP Clinical Services,” said Whitney. “Matt brings the strategic and operating experience needed to lead large, complex healthcare organizations at scale and drive growth and innovation. Krishna brings the perspective of a radiologist, physician leader and operator who understands how clinical priorities and operational execution must work together. This leadership structure reflects our commitment to strengthening performance, supporting our physicians and teammates, deepening our client partnerships and continuing to advance our mission to transform radiology.”
As President of RP Clinical Services, Peterson will lead strategy and execution across RP’s national clinical services organization, with a focus on strengthening operational performance, supporting physicians and teammates, deepening client partnerships and advancing high-quality patient care.
Peterson joins RP Clinical Services from Universal Health Services, where he served as Executive Vice President and President of the Behavioral Health Division. In that role, he led strategy, operations and growth across a network of more than 350 facilities in 39 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom, supporting tens of thousands of professionals dedicated to patient care.
Before joining UHS, Peterson spent 12 years at UnitedHealth Group, where he held senior leadership roles across managed care, healthcare services and technology. He served as Senior Vice President and Divisional Chief Operating Officer at Optum and held senior enterprise operations roles supporting large-scale healthcare delivery, payor-provider operations and technology-enabled services across diverse geographies and patient populations.
In addition to his civilian healthcare leadership, Peterson served for more than 34 years in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, retiring as a Brigadier General. Most recently, he advised senior Air Force medical leadership on the operation of a globally integrated healthcare delivery system serving millions of beneficiaries.
“I am honored to join Radiology Partners and support its physician-led mission to transform radiology,” said Peterson. “RP Clinical Services has a unique opportunity to build on a strong foundation of clinical excellence while continuing to strengthen how we support physicians, clients and patients. I look forward to working closely with the practice’s physicians, leaders and teammates to learn the business and help advance the next chapter of RP Clinical Services.”
Dr. Nallamshetty’s move into the full-time COO role represents a significant step for RP Clinical Services and underscores the practice’s commitment to embedding physician leadership directly into operational decision-making. A radiologist and long-time physician leader, Dr. Nallamshetty brings a rare combination of clinical excellence, operational experience and enterprise leadership to the role.
As Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Nallamshetty will focus on operational execution across RP Clinical Services, ensuring strong alignment between clinical strategy and performance across the enterprise. Through his leadership across both the clinical and operational sides of the practice, he has brought a deep physician-led perspective to execution, performance and enterprise alignment.
Dr. Nallamshetty previously served as Chief Medical Officer of Radiology Partners and Practice President of Radiology Associates of Florida, where he oversaw operations, growth and clinical performance across multiple hospital systems, academic medical centers and outpatient imaging networks. As Interim Chief Medical Officer, he will continue to provide clinical leadership continuity while the practice begins the search for its next permanent CMO, a role that remains central to RP Clinical Services’ physician-led model, clinical agenda and commitment to advancing patient care.
“At RP Clinical Services, clinical excellence and operational execution are deeply connected,” said Dr. Nallamshetty. “I am grateful for the opportunity to step into this role full time and continue working with our physicians, practice leaders and teammates to strengthen how we support our patients, clients and practices. As we look ahead, physician leadership will remain essential to how we operate, make decisions and continue transforming radiology.”
These appointments build on RP’s continued work to strengthen its operating model, including the recent appointment of Mike Peresie as President of Mosaic Clinical Technologies, RP’s technology and AI division. Together, these leadership moves are designed to strengthen alignment across clinical services, technology, data and operational support in service of physicians, clients and patients.
