Sunflower Bank Welcomes Andy Gaines as Regional President for Houston, Austin & San Antonio

Sunflower Bank is pleased to announce that Andy Gaines has joined the bank as Regional President for Houston, Austin & San Antonio. In this role, Gaines is responsible for leading the growth of Sunflower Bank’s middle market commercial banking business in these key Texas markets.

Sunflower Bank is an $8.5 billion bank with a model of delivering relationship-driven banking services with local decision-making to communities throughout Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington. The bank’s national lines of business include specialty commercial services and a mortgage lending platform with capabilities in 43 states.

Gaines brings more than 15 years of experience in commercial and corporate banking with a successful track record of building high-performing middle market banking teams across the Texas Gulf Coast region. Most recently, he served as Regional Executive of Middle Market Banking at a Houston-based regional community bank, where he successfully led strategic growth initiatives. Gaines holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University. He is based at Sunflower Bank’s Houston corporate office.

To further support Sunflower Bank’s growth plans in Houston, two other recent hires include Christine Dobbins as Commercial Banking Team Lead, and Malia Willis as Commercial Relationship Manager. Both Dobbins and Willis are experienced commercial banking professionals with deep knowledge of the Houston economy. Expanding on the current commercial banking teams in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio is a top priority for Sunflower Bank in 2026.

Sunflower Bank’s presence in Greater Houston, Austin, and San Antonio expanded following its April 2022 merger with Pioneer Bank. Today, its headquarters are in Dallas and Sunflower Bank operates twenty two locations in Texas with complete commercial and business banking, treasury management, personal banking, mortgage lending, private banking and wealth management services provided by local teams.
