Elite Learning Launches DEA MATE Act Course for Healthcare Practitioners

New 8-hour course helps physicians and dentists meet new DEA requirements

Elite Learning, a leading provider of healthcare continuing education nationwide, is proud to announce the launch of its 8-hour DEA MATE Act course specifically designed for DEA-registered practitioners. The course has been developed to help practitioners meet the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) new requirement under the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act in a self-paced, convenient format.

The MATE Act requires all DEA-registered practitioners, except for those who are solely veterinarians, to complete eight hours of training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. Starting in June 2023, practitioners were required to report completion of the requirement on their DEA registration or regularly scheduled education renewal date. All DEA-registered practitioners must check a box on their DEA registration form confirming they have completed the 8-hour substance use training requirement.

Elite Learning’s course offering is a self-paced, online course targeted for physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, dentists, and advanced practice nurses. Its purpose is to provide practitioners with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively treat and manage patients with opioid or other substance use disorders.

“We are proud to offer this course to help practitioners meet the DEA’s new requirement,” said Renee Altier, President of Colibri Healthcare. “We recognize that healthcare professionals often face high levels of stress and long working hours, so our goal is to provide an affordable and convenient option so they can stay compliant without having to take time away from their practice.”

Elite Learning’s 8-hour DEA MATE Act course is available now for purchase. Practitioners can purchase and complete the course to fulfill this new requirement. For more information, please visit our website and review our 8-hour DEA Mate Act Training.
