Orlando Credit Union Awards $100,000 to Central Florida Organizations in 2024

ORLANDO, FL / ACCESSWIRE / November 20, 2024 / As 2024 approaches its final quarter, Orlando Credit Union, a member-focused financial cooperative, reflects on a year of impactful community award investments set to conclude in December. "It's been a very active year of sponsorships, events, giving, and investments throughout Central Florida for Orlando Credit Union, including our active contributions to programs and Events with cities and non-profit organizations," stated David Duncan, VP of Marketing and Communications for the organization. "Orlando Credit Union is actively committed to and distributed funds to organizations of note, including municipalities, that build for the future and champion the tapestry of peoples throughout central Florida," added Duncan.

2024 was also a year that also included the launch of the Orlando Credit Union Charitable Foundation. Duncan serves the Foundation as its' Vice Chair. "The Foundation is a new giving arm of Orlando Credit Union and offered the Grace Chewning Scholarship fund into market. The Grace Chewning Scholarship fund was awarded to 5 outstanding high school seniors in increments of $1000 to each recipient, all of whom were heading off to college in 2025. Recipients had achieved through volunteerism and academically at their respective schools. We were fortunate to receive a slate of outstanding applicants with this year's inaugural scholarship launch and to have the scholarship's namesake on hand to award each recipient. It was a very special and meaningful moment with Grace Chewning," added Duncan.

2025 offers a new set of events, investments, giving opportunities, and sponsorships to further extend Orlando Credit Union into the communities we serve. "I am absolutely thrilled at the prospect of deepening relationships and extending those commitments throughout Florida. With reflection comes wisdom and we seek to have a more impactful affect through giving, investment, events, and Sponsorships this coming year," noted Duncan.
