The Southland Symphony Orchestra presents our 2022-23 Season Opening Concert - "Much More Music!" on Sunday October 9, 2022 4pm @ Bethel Congregational Church, Ontario California.

ONTARIO, Calif. - Sept. 26, 2022 - PRLog -- The Southland Symphony's 2022-23 Season begins with an exciting concert - featuring music of many diverse composers, including LIVING composers, and some that have been underrepresented in the past. We are excited to be bringing their music to our concert season, and to our community. This concert will bring more than 50 musicians to the stage!

WHAT: Southland Symphony Season Opening Concert - "Much More Music!"
WHEN:
Sunday October 9, 2022 at 4pm
WHERE: Bethel United Church of Christ, 536 N Euclid Ave, Ontario CA 91762-
WHO: Southland Symphony Orchestra - Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann, conductor and Mr. George Osorio, assistant conductor. PLUS - the wonderful musicians of the SSO!

The concert includes music of two LIVING COMPOSERS:
1. A WORLD PREMIERE performance of Jordan Jinosko's "Three Sketches of Unblemished Earth", and
2. Adrienne Albert's "Courage".
In addition, we feature this wonderful music:
Florence Price - "Dances in the Canebrakes",
Amy Beach - "Bal Masque" (Mr. Osorio will conduct this selection)
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor - "Danse Negre"
William Grant Still - "Song of the Rivemen", from his "American Scene, Suite 5" and
Leonard Bernstein - "Slava!"
