Modesto, California Jul 20, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Central Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (CVHCC) and the Orange Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (OCHCC) are announcing they have been awarded grants through the California Employee Training Panel for $500,000 each, for a total of 1 Million dollars for grants to small businesses of 10 employees or less when an employee goes out on leave through paid family leave.
Paid Family Leave (PFL) provides benefit payments to people who need to take time off work to:
- Care for a seriously ill family member.
- Bond with a new child.
- Participate in a qualifying event because of a family member's military deployment.
New to Paid Family leave is now California employers of 10 employees can now qualify for $500 for each employee who has missed work due to PFL and does not need to be paid back.
"Having an employee out is inevitable. Thanks to Paid Family Leave I am able to easily apply and receive a grant that helps me recoup my cost to my business for having an employee on leave and I do not need to pay it back" says Sandy Woods from Investment Property Management (IPM) Oakdale, CA.
