Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ:HURN), a leading provider of financial and operational consulting services, today announced that Michael J. Barone has joined the Company as a managing director to provide financial management, enterprise risk management, internal controls and internal audit services to the Company’s higher education clients.

Barone has been providing financial management, internal audit and consulting services to higher education, healthcare and other not-for-profit sector clients for the last 25 years. With deep experience in financial systems, project management, risk management and internal controls, he has also served as a senior adviser on research administration policies and systems. Barone comes to Huron from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he was a managing director responsible for growing the firm’s internal audit and broader business advisory services in the higher education and not-for-profit industries. Earlier in his career, he was the Director of Internal Audit at Harvard University. For more than a decade, he determined and managed the overall scope, approach and achievement of Harvard’s annual audit plan. Barone is a certified public accountant (CPA) and holds a BBA from Siena College. He will be based in Huron’s Boston office.
