BidPrime Reports Record Growth in Government Bids for Purchase of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment

PRLog - Apr. 14, 2014 - AUSTIN, Texas -- In a special focus on the growing EVSE industry, BidPrime reports record growth in government purchases of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment by cities and municipalities.

“While Electric Vehicle purchases are growing significantly, year over year, EVSE infrastructure for public consumption have only recently demonstrated growth,” said Jim Ward, BidPrime’s VP of Business Development and writer of this article and report. “Our research found the quantity of the projects increased, along with the scale, size, and dollars awarded per each project.”

Additional findings of the report indicate the following:

Top states for purchases of EVSE, per capita, were Rhode Island, Hawaii, Washington, Colorado, and California.

The 1st quarter of 2014 had a 90% increase in government bid requests, versus the 1st quarter in 2013.

At least 50% increase in government bids for the purchase of EVSE, year over year, since 2011.

The average amount per awarded bid in 2013 was 27% greater than the average bid in 2012, indicating larger scale and greater number of unit purchases.
