Des Moines, IA – Arcade Running, an exciting new fitness app that feels like a retro 1980s-style arcade game, has recently launched on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store to great success. Arcade Running gamifies walking and running by providing enticing incentives to players who complete challenges and quests or find geocached items.
Arcade Running provides incentives for walking or running within a points-based system. Players must increase their achievement level and leaderboard rank with points earned for distance traveled and time of exercise. The application offers players the opportunity to win bonus points and real cash found in challenges, quests, and geocached items.
Logging activities in real-time, points are accumulated through time and distance monitored by a device’s GPS, which requires players to move to earn points. Players compete against one another to earn points, as the more points and higher one’s rank, the better their badge and the more money they can win. Each month, the player with the highest score will automatically win $100.
“Arcade Running is a fun 1980s-style arcade game powered by exercise,” commented founder and programmer Aaron From. “I wanted to get people moving, and Arcade Running gamifies that with exciting quests and point-based achievements. While traditional exercise can be boring, Arcade Running introduces the excitement and motivation needed to get it done.”
