FPL Group and Constellation Energy File Merger Proxy with SEC

Late Friday, FPL Group and Constellation Energy filed our preliminary merger proxy with the Securities and Exchange Commission, an important step in the approval process for the two companies' proposed merger.

We will continue to monitor the situation in Maryland and are hopeful that the issues there will be resolved in a timely manner. Until we are able to get greater clarity on some of these issues, our integration team efforts will remain on hold. In the meantime, I ask that you remain focused on meeting your business objectives for 2006.

Best regards,

Lew Hay
