BENSALEM, PA, March 13, 2008 – Charming Shoppes, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHRS), a leading multi-brand, multi-channel specialty apparel retailer specializing in women’s plus-size apparel, announced today that its 2008 Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008.  Shareholders of record at the close of business on March 28, 2008 are entitled to notice of, and to attend and vote at, the Annual Meeting.
