Item1.01. Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.
On July 16, 2010, Emergent BioDefense Operations Lansing Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emergent BioSolutions Inc. ("Registrant"), entered into a modification of its BioThrax® (Anthrax Vaccine Adsorbed) procurement contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ("CDC"). The modification accelerates the Forecasted Delivery Schedule by approximately 3 months, of doses of BioThrax that the company can deliver into the Strategic National Stockpile.
A copy of the Registrant's press release regarding the modification is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
