On June 1, 2006, Pier 1 Imports, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press
release announcing the Company's sales results for the four-week period and
first quarter ended May 27, 2006 and reiterated financial guidance for the
Company's fiscal 2007 first quarter results. A copy of this press release
is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
