Wallets automatically tracks prepaid credit and token balances, replacing spreadsheets and manual workarounds for SaaS and AI companies.

Maxio, the leading platform for billing automation and revenue management for B2B SaaS and AI companies, today announced the launch of Wallets, a native prepaid credit and token tracking system built directly into Maxio’s platform.

Usage-based pricing is becoming increasingly common for SaaS and AI companies, but many still manage it by hand. Prepaid credits and token balances live in spreadsheets, support ticket reminders and one-off scripts, causing missed renewals. Most systems also lock every customer into one rollover policy, with no way to set it by credit type.

Wallets in Maxio solves this by tracking balances natively, so engineering doesn't have to build and maintain the infrastructure, and finance gets one ledger instead of a spreadsheet to reconcile.

“Every software company we talk to is wrestling with how to service their buyers while running a monetization strategy that fits how they actually price. Tracking usage, balances, and renewals for every buyer at scale is now a requirement that many billing systems weren't built for,” said Branden Jenkins, CEO of Maxio. “Wallets gives companies real control over how credits and tokens move, whether that's a prepaid pack, a recurring allowance, or a stored-value balance, so they can finally show buyers exactly where they stand and price however their business actually works.”

With Wallets, companies can sell prepaid credit packs, recurring token allowances, annual pools, and stored-value balances, with rollover and expiration rules configurable per credit type. Balances top up automatically once they cross a set threshold, and alerts fire before a customer runs out, turning low-balance situations into expansion opportunities.

Wallets adds to Maxio’s monetization infrastructure for usage-based pricing. Metering captures usage as it happens, Entitlements defines what a customer can access and Wallets tracks what they’ve paid for but haven’t consumed yet. Together, the three remove the manual layer that most SaaS and AI companies still run today.

Wallets is now available in Maxio. Full details at maxio.com/wallets.
