Jeffrey Hendrik, President Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (left), and Yoshi Yokokawa, Co-Founder and CEO of Alpaca (right), sign an agreement to explore cross-border capital market access at the IDX Main Hall in Jakarta on September 1, 2026.

Under the agreement, Alpaca and IDX will explore a framework that would enable Indonesian securities broker members to provide their customers with access to U.S. and other foreign securities, leveraging infrastructure as well as execution, clearing, and custodial services supported by Alpaca. This initiative will be facilitated through the Penyaluran Amanat Luar Negeri (PALN) mechanism, which will allow Indonesian brokers to offer their customers access to securities traded on overseas exchanges.

Through this partnership, Indonesian retail investors will soon be able to access investment opportunities in leading global companies through securities brokers regulated by Indonesia Financial Services Authority/Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). The parties will also explore opportunities to facilitate access for international brokers and market participants to Indonesian capital market products and services.

“Indonesia has one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing investor communities in the world, and we believe investors should be able to access global opportunities through financial institutions they already trust,” said Yoshi Yokokawa, Co-Founder and CEO of Alpaca. “Our collaboration with IDX represents an important step toward connecting Indonesian financial institutions and their customers to global markets through Alpaca’s infrastructure, while bringing Indonesia’s capital markets closer to international investors.”

Jeffrey Hendrik, President Director of Indonesia Stock Exchange, said: “Through the signing of this MoU, we establish a framework to explore reciprocal capital market access across jurisdictions. This initiative provides a platform to explore pathways for our Exchange Members to access global markets, while also examining opportunities for international brokers and market participants to access Indonesia’s growing capital market.”

Indonesia has seen significant growth in retail participation in capital markets, with the number of investors surpassing 30 million, accompanied by growing demand for international investment opportunities. As this demand continues to grow, Alpaca’s API-based brokerage infrastructure enables financial institutions and fintech companies to seamlessly integrate access to global financial markets into their own products and deliver more connected investment experiences to their customers.

The agreement deepens Alpaca’s presence in Indonesia, where it already works with companies including Ajaib, Gotrade, Nanovest, PT Valbury Asia Futures, and Reku.
