Cheryl Canfield of Tutoring by Cheryl Canfield said, “I graduated from University of Texas Pan American in 1993 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Math. My educational teaching degree is certified from first grade through eighth grade. Over the past 28 years, I had the privilege of teaching in three different school districts and one private school: Latoya ISD, Pflugerville ISD, Round Rock ISD and Round Rock Christian Academy.
My first year of teaching was with 9th-grade Math students at La Joya ISD. Then shortly after that, I transitioned into teaching 3rd and 5th grade students for eight years until it was time to transfer to Pflugerville ISD, where I would be close to family.
At Pflugerville ISD, I taught 6th grade math for a half year. Then a door opened for me to teach 4th grade at Copperfield Elementary. I taught 4th grade at this school for eight years. Then the opportunity of teaching Gifted and Talented students, Kinder thru 5th grade at Round Rock ISD, was presented to me, and I accepted the position.
Round Rock ISD was calling my name. In my last 12 years teaching in the public-school sector, I was blessed to teach Gifted and Talented kinder through fifth-grade students at Double File Trail Elementary for Round Rock Independent School District. After serving and teaching in the public schools for 26 years, I decided to retire.”
