The Assistance Fund Opens New Program for Primary Hyperoxaluria

Financial Assistance from The Assistance Fund Now Available for Eligible People Living With Primary Hyperoxaluria

ORLANDO, Fla. - January 11, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new financial assistance program for people living with primary hyperoxaluria. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical costs for treatment, such as copayments, health insurance premiums, and incidental medical expenses related to the condition.

Primary hyperoxaluria is a rare, genetic condition that causes the overproduction of oxalate, which can result in frequent kidney stones and crystals. This process can permanently damage the kidneys and eventually cause them to stop working.[i]

"Thanks to our generous donors, The Assistance Fund is pleased to announce the launch of our new Primary Hyperoxaluria Financial Assistance Program," said Mark P. McGreevy, President and CEO of The Assistance Fund. "People living with primary hyperoxaluria must manage incredible physical and mental stress related to their condition; we are thrilled to remove from the equation the financial pressure of accessing treatment."
