St Croix Cleaners, a locally owned dry cleaner, has partnered with Project Fairy Godmothers (PFG), a 501(c)(3) charity, to collect prom dresses for youth in the Twin Cities metro. Dresses are being accepted at all of St Croix Cleaners’ 15 convenient metro locations, now through March 20, 2020.
Those interested in supporting the cause can drop off new or slightly used (no more than five years old) Prom, Bridesmaid, or Formal dresses, shoes, clutches, jewelry and any makeup or hair products at any St Croix Cleaners location now through March 20. St Croix Cleaners then cleans and presses each of the dresses at no charge. Donations are tax deductible. The Prom Dress Giveaway will occur on April 4, 2020 at Summit University Teen Center.
Project Fairy Godmothers was founded in 2014 by Cassandra Marshall. Project Fairy Godmothers creates an opportunity for students attending high school in the Twin Cities, and surrounding areas, to select a new or gently used prom or formal dress, with shoes and all accessories at no cost. All are made possible through generous donations. St Croix Cleaners has a strong history of partnering with non-profit organizations that focus on providing meaningful experiences for young women and began working with Project Fairy Godmothers in early 2016. In one year, we’ve donated over 350 dresses to local high school girls! We are hoping to increase the amount of donations we received from previous years and really make 2020 prom one to remember.
