AM Best to Host Webinar on What Insurers Should Know About Four Trends Transforming Asset Management

At a complimentary webinar on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. (EST), experts from iShares and Greenwich Associates will discuss trends from the 2019 Annual Greenwich Institutional Exchange-Traded Funds (ETF) Adoption and Usage survey, as well the following four trends that will fuel future ETF growth and how these might transform insurance general account portfolios:

  • ETF investors are active investors;
  • Investors are cost-sensitive;
  • Bond-trading evolution favors ETFs for efficient market access; and
  • The business model for financial advice is transforming.

ETFs have grown to over $5 trillion in assets under management since the first U.S. product launched in 1993. Global investors recognize that ETFs offer cost-efficient investment exposures, along with transparency and liquidity. As of year-end 2017, insurance companies specifically have ramped up their use of ETFs in the general account by more than 25% over the most recent three-year period.

Panelists include:

  • Joshua Penzner, managing director, head of fixed income & insurance, iShares; and
  • Andrew McCollum, managing director, Greenwich Investment Management.
