Critical Communications Go Viral with CodeRED Mobile Alert App and Social Sharing

Connecting people with the information they need by empowering individuals to share emergency notifications via their personal social media accounts.
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - July 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Emergency Communications Network (ECN), North America's largest provider of reliable critical and mass notification systems, is pleased to announce the addition of a social sharing feature for alerts published through the CodeRED Mobile Alert app, the most trusted and downloaded public safety notification app in the industry. This enhancement allows users to promote emergency and general notifications such as local severe weather warnings, missing persons, boil water advisories and more, as communicated by local authorities to extended family, friends and community members across their personal social media platforms.

"It is reported that as many as two-thirds of American adults use social networking sites daily, making it an important means of interpersonal communications," said Troy Harper, CodeRED Product Manager.  "For this reason, we believe enabling CodeRED Mobile Alert app users the ability to instantly share general and emergency alerts issued by local government officials is a powerful mechanism to help self-perpetuate important information to others potentially impacted.  With a click of a button, users may elect to re-post critical communications directly to their personal social media accounts, creating an enhanced mobile notification strategy for important and time-sensitive information."

The CodeRED Mobile Alert app's interface is streamlined and intuitive to use. When a notification is received on a mobile device, the user can post it to any of their preferred social media platforms.  Notifications shared over social media will display the title of the alert, a brief description, an image or video, and a link to view additional details. Viewers of the social media post can then directly interact with the content by clicking the link and reading the detailed information.

To use this feature you must have the free CodeRED Mobile Alert app from the App Store or Google Play downloaded onto your iOS or Android mobile device. Once the app is downloaded, geo-targeted notifications are received directly on registered devices within the immediate alert area. Any notification received can then be shared with personal contacts, friends, family and community by selecting the share feature.
