COLUMBUS, Ohio - May 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Cafe Courier, Columbus, Ohio, was founded in 1989 as one of the nation's first restaurant delivery services. Cafe Courier began delivering restaurant meals to homes and offices in the Columbus suburb of Upper Arlington and rapidly expanded to other Northwest Columbus suburbs and downtown Columbus. Today Cafe Courier delivers food from approximately 100 restaurants throughout the majority of Columbus, Ohio.
The food delivery industry has grown tremendously over the 27 years. There have been many 'mom and pop' delivery services who have tried to enter the Columbus market with little foot-hold. As the industry has gained national attention with ordering APPs and other technology driven services, Cafe Courier has maintained their market lead by focusing on customer service and restaurant relationships. When dealing with food and large corporate accounts, having a real person to talk to makes a big difference to many of Cafe Courier's customers.
Over the 27 years, much has changed. Orders used to be taken by phone and fax. Today the majority of the orders are received via Cafe Courier's website and APP (Apple and Google Play). One thing that has not changed much over the 27 years is Cafe Courier's delivery fee. The original fee was $3.95 and today the minimum delivery fee is only $4.50. In celebration of their anniversary, Cafe Courier is going back to their $3.95 delivery fee from May 4, 2016 through May 10, 2016. A week of savings!
In 2001, Cafe Courier also expanded across the state of Montana and to Boise, Idaho. These locations currently operate as a separate unit from Cafe Courier, Ohio.
