EA targets early release of ‘Battlefield 3’

Electronic Arts says it plans to launch “Battlefield 3” on Oct. 25 — just two weeks before the debut of the next iteration of the blockbuster “Call of Duty” franchise that the company hopes to challenge in the competitive first-person shooter category.
