This literal and figurative out-of-the-world novel is the second instalment of a three-part series. The adventures and dangers that four university professors endure when climbing Mt. Baker during their winter break and the world beyond it scintillate in another Beauford Averette sci-fi novel, “Exvascia.”
The book will introduce readers to the residents of the dwarf planet, Exvascia. Although the creatures hold immense power, most of them are just and have welcomed the earthlings. However, Exvascia is in constant danger because of rogue meteors that can hit the planet and because of an impending takeover of power. Will they survive?
Averette, a fantasy author, has written his twisting narrative such that the adventures never end but rather expand on virtually every page. His story is typically on the move, with challenging scenarios popping up to puzzle the squad. Surprisingly, the majority of this creative story conveys dialogue. Because new monsters, capabilities, and unsettling circumstances come and spread so quickly, readers may find it hard to keep track of them all. Fortunately, the scenarios are brought to a proper and generally quick finish. Averette's idea might be the basis for a television series with new challenges in each episode. His work is fast-paced and dramatic, with flashes of romance and comedy interspersed among wonderfully imaginative landscapes, monsters, and enough shape-shifting, telepathy, and technology to satisfy sci-fi and fantasy fans.
