Oak Brook, Illinois--(Newsfile Corp. - July 20, 2026) - Lions International marked several key milestones at the 108^th Lions International Convention held at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, China. More than 18,000 Lions from 140 countries gathered for this premier event to reconnect with fellow members from around the globe. Participants were excited to explore new strategies for strengthening and expanding clubs and to celebrate another impactful year of service to communities in need.

Between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, the dedication of more than 1.4 million Lions and Leos and their global foundation made it possible to serve over 345 million people worldwide. During this period, Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF)-the charitable arm of Lions Clubs International-raised more than USD$84 million, bolstering Lions' humanitarian efforts and helping to meet critical needs both locally and globally.

"As I reflect on this past year, I am filled with gratitude and pride for the remarkable work Lions and Leos have accomplished together," said 2025-2026 Lions Clubs International President and current LCIF Chairperson A.P. Singh. "Whether responding to local challenges, supporting those in need, or advancing our global causes, Lions' dedication has created a lasting impact on countless lives. I have witnessed firsthand the compassion, generosity, and determination that define our association. Together, we have accomplished extraordinary things, and I am confident the best is yet to come."

Highlights from the 108^th Lions International Convention included world-class entertainment from musicians and performers, and a record-setting Tai Chi event where nearly 4,000 Lions from around the world joined together in meditation and a moment of internal peace. Engaging seminars and an inspiring keynote address from bestselling author Mahatria Ra encouraged Lions to reflect on their purpose, responsibilities and holistic growth as individuals and within the communities they serve.

Lions honored non-profit organization Khalsa Aid International with the Lions International Humanitarian Award, the association's highest honor given to an individual or an organization for exemplary humanitarian efforts. Additionally, Lions celebrated the winners of the 2025-2026 Peace Poster Contest and Peace Essay Contest, where young people ages 11-13 share their ideas for a more peaceful world.

The Lions International Convention also served as a catalyst for Lions and Leos to do some good during their time in Hong Kong. Volunteers participated in a handful of impactful service projects, including packing bags with food and daily hygiene necessities for low-income families, sewing handmade crafts for senior citizens and donating towels and washcloths for people in need.

Mark S. Lyon, esteemed legal and financial professional and Connecticut, USA resident, was elected as the 2026-2027 international president of Lions Clubs International. A longtime member of the Brookfield Lions Club, Lyon has held various leadership roles within the organization and will now head up the largest membership-based humanitarian organization in the world. In this role, he will oversee global membership growth, support LCIF and inspire clubs to meet the growing needs of neighborhoods worldwide through service.
