Longmont, CO - As summer travel, thunderstorms, and Fourth of July fireworks approach, Earth Buddy is spotlighting findings from its Pet Calming Pathfinder. This real-world study, conducted by MoreBetter in partnership with the Veterinary Cannabis Society, was designed to better understand how full-spectrum CBD products may help dogs cope with stress during one of the most challenging times of year for pets.
The 2022 study evaluated how consistent daily use of full-spectrum oils, chews, and water-soluble products assists in calming dogs.
Conducted in July 2022, the 26-day real-world consumer study evaluated multiple formats of full-spectrum CBD for daily calming support during one of the most stressful times of the year for dogs and other pets. A total of 49 pets completed the study, consisting of 93% dogs and 7% cats. According to the findings, 92% of participating pet parents reported that their dog coped better with stress by day 25 of the 26-day study. The mean pet stress score decreased from 9.53 to 6.02 over the study period, representing a 37% improvement.

The three full-spectrum CBD formats used in the study were the Quick Calm CBD Spray (water-soluble CBD suspended in distilled water), the CBD Calming Chews (oven-baked calming chews), and the Full-Spectrum CBD Oil (hemp extract with MCT oil). These options allowed participating pet parents to find an option that was best suited for their dog's needs and lifestyle. Notably, this was the first study to test multiple formats of full-spectrum CBD products for daily calming support with formal statistical analysis.
The findings of the Pathfinder are particularly relevant during June and July, when weather changes, travel, and holiday celebrations can trigger stress or disrupt routines. The data from this real-world study highlights the potential of consistent, daily cannabinoid support to build long-term resilience against stressful situations.
