Beloved Alabama hotel introduces new nature-inspired identity rooted in community and refined Southern hospitality, while remaining a part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection
Today, Grand Bohemian Mountain Brook begins operating as Hotel Wildemont, an Autograph Collection Hotel, introducing a new identity inspired by the area’s natural beauty, garden-community roots and refined Southern sensibility. The evolution reflects the hotel’s continued role as a refined retreat and gathering place for locals, travelers and the surrounding Birmingham community.
The name Hotel Wildemont draws from the wooded landscape and elevated character of Mountain Brook, pairing a sense of natural discovery with the polish of an established Southern destination. As a new expression of the property’s identity, Hotel Wildemont preserves the personalized service, hospitality and trusted local relationships that have defined the hotel, while offering a refreshed point of view shaped by its setting and community.
As part of the transition, Hotel Wildemont will introduce new culinary, cocktail and social programming designed to bring guests and locals together through shared discovery and connection. At Habitat Feed & Social, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, the culinary program will continue to emphasize communal-style dining, locally grown ingredients and responsibly raised meats, with whole-roasted proteins such as whole fish and whole roasted chicken available daily. From Thursday through Sunday, Habitat Feed & Social will offer “Whole Beast Feast,” an elevated communal dining experience available with a 48-hour advance reservation. Designed for group gatherings and celebrations, the experience will feature premium proteins such as whole roasted duck, tomahawk steaks, beef brisket and whole suckling pig, presented through a tableside carving experience with wine pairings.
Hotel Wildemont will also debut Cocktail Lab, a new experiential beverage offering led by a blendologist and designed to explore the science behind a perfectly balanced drink. Building on the hotel’s popular wine blending experience, the 90-minute, hands-on class invites guests to experiment with flavor, craft classic cocktails and create a personalized drink of their own.
The hotel’s Gallery Experience Lounge will remain a beautifully appointed, art-filled gathering space while expanding its programming as a flexible destination for morning coffee, curated cocktails, afternoon tea and locally driven creative events. Weekly and monthly programming will include painting workshops, trivia nights and other ticketed experiences, with the lounge also remaining available for private events.
Together, the expanded programming complements Hotel Wildemont’s broader collection of guest amenities, creating a stay experience rooted in leisure, wellness and discovery. Guests can take part in hands-on culinary experiences at Habitat Cooking School, relax with water-inspired treatments at The Spa at Hotel Wildemont, spend time at the outdoor pool or enjoy signature offerings such as wine blending in partnership with Raymond Vineyards, rooftop dining at Habitat Feed & Social, fitness amenities and 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces for meetings, weddings and social gatherings. Located in the heart of Mountain Brook’s walkable villages, the boutique hotel also places guests just minutes from the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Zoo, local walking trails and charming boutiques.
“Hotel Wildemont represents a meaningful new chapter for our hotel, but the heart of the experience remains unchanged,” said Tiffiany Holmes, General Manager, Hotel Wildemont. “Our guests, neighbors and community partners will continue to be welcomed by the same team, the same thoughtful service and the same commitment to hospitality that have long defined this hotel. We’re excited to carry that legacy forward through a new identity that feels deeply connected to Mountain Brook.”
