Newfield Exploration Company (“Newfield”) issued a news release today announcing that it had
priced $700 million of Senior Subordinated Notes due 2020, which will carry an annual interest rate of
6 7/8%. A copy of the press release regarding this matter is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1.
