On July 14, 2009, MetLife, Inc. issued a press release to announce that it will combine its Institutional and Individual Businesses to form an integrated U.S. Business organization, effective August 1, 2009. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
