Item 8.01 Other Events.

On July 8, 2008, Kaiser Aluminum Corporation (the "Company") issued a press release concerning the status of Anglesey Aluminium Metal Ltd. ("Anglesey"), an entity in which the Company has a 49% ownership interest, following a transformer failure that resulted in a localized fire at Anglesey on June 12, 2008. The Company’s core fabricated products operations were not affected by this fire.

A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
