This Report of Foreign Private Issuer on Form 6-K is deemed filed for all purposes under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended, including by reference in the Registration Statement on Form F-3 (Registration No. 33-99550) and the Registration Statement on Form F-3 (Registration No. 333-9180).


On June 5, 2009, Korea Electric Power Corporation (“KEPCO”) decided that, together with its wholly-owned nuclear generation subsidiary, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd (“KHNP”), it will establish KEPCO Canada Uranium Investment Ltd. as an investment vehicle in Canada for purposes of making equity investments in Denison Mines Corporation, a Canadian uranium development company. The amount of aggregate capital contribution from KEPCO and KHNP is expected to be approximately KRW83.8 billion and the target establishment date is June 30, 2009. KEPCO and KHNP plan to own 75% and 25% equity interest in the newly established company, respectively
