On July 22, 2014, Galmed Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared the Company’s Investigational New Drug application for aramchol and that in connection therewith, the Company requested Fast Track Designation from the FDA for aramchol. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
